Oil stains are quite tough and are difficult to remove from fabrics, floors, upholstery and so on. It is better to clean the oil stains when it is fresh or recent. It can be easily extracted by blotting the surface using an old newspaper. Blot the excess oil using the newspaper and then mix some mild detergent in warm water and pour it over the stained surface and start scrubbing it with a brush. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth and wait till it dries. You will see the oil stain gone and your wooden floor clear off the stains. If you still find the stain, use some mineral spirit on the stain and wipe it off with a clean cloth.
For tough or stubborn oil stains, you can buy fuller’s earth from the market and mix it up with dry cleaning liquid. Use the paste on the oil stain or the surface which is stained. Let it sit for 10 minutes so that it dries up. Using a utility knife or an old knife scrape away the paste gently. Do not put much pressure on it as you may damage the wooden surface. You will see the stains gone and your wooden floor will get rid of the stain. Now you can clean the surface using a mild detergent and warm water and rinse the left over residue of the paste. Dry the surface using a dry and clean cloth and then you can apply some polish to bring back the shine and luster which was missing. Try to polish the surface in a circular motion and do not use too much of polish as it will make the surface slippery.

Maintaining your wooden floors and keeping it clean all the time is important if you want it to stay for long. Polishing of the surface is a must since it will act as a dust repellant. Stains and marks can be prevented from setting in if you act immediately or instantly and clean the surface where the spill took place, be it water or oil or juice. You just need to blot the surface first and take care of the stain. Proper care and maintenance is required for such wooden floors.
