There are many ways which can help you remove the chewing gum from clothes. You can fold the garment or clothes which have the chewing gum so that the gum protrude out and then place it in a plastic bag carefully without making the gum touch the plastic bag. Keep it in the refrigerator and freeze it. Once the gum is all frozen, use an old knife or a butter knife and try to scrape it off the clothes. Make sure the chewing gum does not thaw as it will be difficult to remove it then. Another method by which you can remove chewing gum from clothes is by dipping the surface of the fabric or cloth affected in very hot water. Now use a tooth brush or knife and scrub or scrape while it is still submerged in the hot water.

Alternative to this method is the steam method. You can boil water in a kettle and let the steam out on the part of clothes or fabric which is affected by the gum. The steam coming out of the mouth of the kettle will soften the gum and it will make it easy for you to scrub it out. When using a tooth brush for scrubbing, make sure you scrub in one direction. If you have the chewing gum stuck to a delicate fabric, you can dab some alcohol on a clean sponge and rub the gum with this. Wait for some time for the alcohol to set in and then use a wooden spatula to remove it. It will easily get removed from the clothes without even staining it as alcohol does not leave any stains.

You can also iron the fabric or cloth and get the chewing gum out. Place a piece of cardboard in between the garment and the ironing board and then on medium mode, start ironing the chewing gum. You will notice that the chewing gum starts melting, once it is completely out of the fabric and on to the cardboard, stop ironing. Your chewing gum is removed from your clothes in no time. This method is easy and takes a few minutes and will clean your clothes nice. Therefore do not hesitate to try one of these methods – quick, easy and quite efficient!
